Stijn Rubens, Senior Consultant at Drewry, will use the Cool Logistics Conference as a platform to launch a brand new approach to reefer freight rates benchmarking
LONDON, 06.09.2017 – Drewry, a leading independent provider of research and consulting services about the maritime and shipping industry, will be launching a brand new Reefer Benchmarking Club at the Cool Logistics Global Conference & Exhibition which takes place on 25-27 September 2017 in Algeciras, Spain. Following a general reefer rate increase, Drewry’s new Reefer Benchmarking Club is as timely as ever for stakeholders within the perishable logistics industry. This new closed user group builds on Drewry’s Benchmarking Club introduced five years ago for those shipping dry containers – this service has over 50 multinational members who all benefit from rate transparency that helps them secure the best possible commercial contract terms for their cargo flows.

The annual Great Freight Debate, a regular feature at Cool Logistics Global Conferences, will follow Mr. Rubens’ presentation on Day 2, looking in particular at reefer box capacity planning and deployment. The session will be moderated by former Global Head of Reefers at Maersk Line, Thomas Eskesen who has founded Eskesen Advisory, and the Panel will consist of Robert Mant, Vice President, Global Reefer Sales and Business Development, Kuehne + Nagel; Robert Sappio, CEO, Seacube Containers; and Chris Swartz, Director, Global Transportation and Logistics Services, AJC International.
On the table for discussion at the debate will be how to respond to box shortage, rolled boxes, unplanned freight, no-shows, new shipping contracts, reefer grey box potential, reefer intermodal, green shoots for gensets and more. The debate will allow shippers to create the basis for a new dialogue with the logistics sector.
Cool Logistics Global, the annual conference for shipping and logistics people, will seek once more to define the edge of possibility in terms of shipping, trading and the logistics of perishables.
